Mercury manuals on line?

Has anyone had a good experience purchasing downloadable manuals for Mercury engines? My dinghy motor is a 2 cylinder, 2 stroke 15HP Merc, and the lower unit is frozen from corrosion - developed a leak, and salt water replaced the lube, and it sat that way over the winter. The cost of a new lower is prohibitive, so I'm going to tackle the rebuild myself.

Check Mercury's online parts store or outdoornetwork's parts store, they have exploded diagrams, which is probably all you need to see how to disassemble it. You'll need your model and serial number. If it's too old to be on the site, just buy their service manual. I just bought the $65 manual for mine (an 8HP 4-cycle, 2006 model) from http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Merc/parts.html and it was totally worth the investment.

i just bought the downloadable version for about $14 on ebay. works great and has everything I need for my 3hp 2 stroke.

I bought the manuals for $16 online, but didn't get the parts book. Oh well.
