O'day 240 NY, NY (City Island)
First real sail of the season. Incredible conditions. Covered 12nm sailing around City Island. Cracked off a top speed of 6.3 knots on a beam reach with full sails and about 15 knots apparent. Photo shows us making 5+ knots close hauled in about 22 knots apparent.

Loving my 240...

Any more good sails out there this weekend?

Good to hear you had a good day. Wind was gusting to 25 knots for us in S NJ. I chickened out.

That's about my limit as well. I can handle the occasional gust over 20, but if it's in the forecast for 20+, then I stay on the mooring.

Spectacular weather on the Chesapeake. Here is yesterday morning at 3 islands on Rhodes River. Max apparent on the way back to Deale was 19.5.

Pretty Spectacular on Montreal as well. Got out on Sunday morning for a nice little sail, just the autopilot and I. Saw 17 kts on the anemometer and 5.5 knots going to weather. Gave the tow rail a good wash too. :)

Cheers

I got out for a few hours around noon on Saturday on the BB. Started out light but a wind shift brought up 12 to 15 as I was coming in.
I went out early today around 10:30. Forecast was for 13 building to 20 and higher. I only spent an hour but it was blowing pretty good when I came in.
When I left the marina around 2pm it was steady 20+. The problem today was a blow out low tide. I was scraping mud in many parts of the channel coming in. 75' from my slip I thought I would have to call for a tow but powered through. Normally in my slip I have 3 1/2' to 4' at the lowest tide. Today I had 2 1/2' which is about what I draw.
All in all, a very pretty Memorial Day Weekend.

Memorial Day = RACING for us.

Saturday the best; 13 knots TWS and absolutely flat water make for a screamer. On the final beat home to take the gun.
