Meeting Forumites

Hi all,

We sailed into Annapolis and met up with Ron 20324 and did some catching up while Ron took us to West Marine. He also showed us where he had his boat (hauled this week) on Back Creek, nice spot. Afterwards we went to a really nice seafood place, Ron knows them all.

So the question is, "Do you meet up with other forumites when you travel?"

Hum, this got me to thinking. Is there a member directory for SBO? I can't seem to find one and wonder if any members are local to me and/or my marina.

I bought my boat from a 'forumite'. Didn't know it then, but isn't everyone here? Some fellow club members are here regularly too.

Hey T-Bird

I just tried the search function. It seems to have a bug. I typed in VA and got a list of SBO members but all of the returns had recent activity that was at least 4 to 6 years ago... and my own name did not come up. So I typed my name to make sure it was in the database. It was and with the correct state (VA). So it seems the search only returns a limited number of queries. Or it has some other issue. ?????

I just did the same thing and only filled in NJ for state. There is a limit of just 500, and the list starts with numerals, then letters. The list barely got into the D's. When I filled in the Homeport (Barnegat), the list is not too big so all members, including me, showed up. There is a distinction between "Location" and "Homeport". The details that you fill in for the Search have to match the Profile. For instance, if your Location isn't filled in on your Profile, you won't be found by the Search for Location.

Yep... I just filled in VA. It seemed as if all of the returns were very old profiles that have been inactive for a long time. But it might just be the few I clicked on.
