Meeting FB tonight

I'm excited to be going to a dinner event tonight where Frank Butler will be in attendance. I'm looking forward to meeting him! :dance:

Frank Butler, two weeks ago at a meeting of Catalina owners in Marina Del Rey. He gave a great talk about how he started the company.

I'm surprised that no once else commented or responded on this pic, but man, that's awesome! Frank Butler reinvented production sailboats, & many folks would never have afforded to sail if it weren't for his great & affordable designs. We all owe him a lot for the joys of sailing a Catalina. I subconsciously named our C 30 "Avalon" & later realized that it's a destination port on Catalina Island! (I'm a East Coaster). Cheers!

I called Catalina Yachts in 1997 to got a transom drain plug for a recently acquired Catalina daysailer. It was a Saturday. Some guy named Frank answered the phone and asked a few questions to figure out what I needed. Then he asked for my address. Parts showed up, no invoice, no freight, no nothing but a smile on my face.

It took a little while but I figured out what happened. I am now on my 4th of hopefully many Catalina boats.

That phone call made a very lasting impression after I figured it out. Happy loyal Catalina owner here; Frank got the whole thing right. My next (sail) boat will be a Catalina.
