An admin is back on the throne. He's a long-time and well-respected forum member, evidenced by his reaction points which rank #2 all-time on SBO.I am referring, of course, to Dave Lochner.
I'm not sure which is more appropriate here--Congratulations or Lotsaluck, Dave,--probly both 'cuz I think Phil would agree that while it's a rewarding job, it can sometimes be a dirty job...and I can't think of anyone here who'd be a better successor to him.

Thank you all for the supportive comments and humorous jabs. They are appreciated.

A question was asked about the schooner I'm involved with, there is a link below to the schooner's page. Briefly it is a schooner built in the style of the commercial freight boats sailing on Lake Ontario in the late 19th century, albeit slightly smaller to keep it under 65' (Different CG regs for boats under 65'). The keel was laid in 1988 and completed about 20 years later, however, the boat was never finished. Ten years ago the H Lee White Maritime Museum acquired the boat and is finishing it for use as sail training vessel for youth. It is a fun project and keeps me busy and off the streets in my retirement years.

Another question that has been asked, is why have 2 different accounts? First and foremost I am a member of this community and I have enjoyed being a part of the community for several years. I intend to continue to do so. One account, this one, is my personal civilian account, anything I post on this account is solely attributable to me and not SBO. I also want to avoid any dampening of a conversation because the Forum Administrator is posting. Likewise I don't want anyone to place any more credence on what I might post because I'm the admin. So, official postings will come from @Dave and personal postings will come from @dlochner.

See you in the forums!

Dave

I'm happy that such a thoughtful choice in Dave was made for Admin. I only participate in one forum, finding friends here that are irreplaceable! It's so good to know that the good vibe that can always be found here will be perpetuated.
