Phil, Maria and I started out on the Hunter site in 2000 and then bought a H26. We read you everyday, learned to sail and have done little else since. The SBO site and the brotherhood of sailors have enriched many lives. Thanks for advancing our dreams.

OK, really. I sincerely appreciate all that you and yours do for this site. I too spend a dis-proportionally large amount of time on here, WAY more than I do anywhere else. It's easily my number one, and I would sorta be at a loss without it. I dropped out of society for several years, (some people have said that it was a detainment in an institution for the criminally insane, but that was a vicious lie about me killing my whole family with an ax. It was more like a hatchet), and my return to the modern world of computers was a huge learning curve. And I immediately crash landed here. So for that I'm genuinely sorry.
But seriously, thanks Phil. Helluva job, mate.

Unlike Chris ( who seems to have an abundant supply of chapstick) I would like to thank you and Blye for managing the best interactive site on sailing. I would probably be sailing anyway, but this site has given me the chance to do it better, safer, and cheaper . I believe we've been able to enjoy our life-choice because of what we've learned through this forum.
If it sounds like my questions are always dumb ones, it's because I can't think of a smart one to ask. Thank goodness I'm better looking than the more hideous individuals that post here.

What a nice surprise to find an e-mail this morning that led me to your bio Phil. In 1998 when I started my Hunter research I found this site, my Ladylove, and you! I agree with the others, so nice to have a face with the name. You look really good. . . .for 80. 
I wonder how many others have made so many good friends just from contacts here. This week I am sailing with a member down here in Punta Gorda. In the years since joining I have sailed with at least six Hunter owners that I met here. I count many more as friends. In many ways all the project sharing has been secondary. What a great site, probably the best ever! Looking forward to another fifteen years.

Great bio! Enjoy getting the scoop on how the SBO people became who they are and how SBO came to be!
Thanks again for bringing the sailing community together in a place that is just as important to the experienced as it is to the novice and to the cruiser as it is to the day sailor! I've said it a thousand times, this site is invaluable to me and I learned more here than I have in any sailing class!

I too appreciate the work that goes into maintaining this excellent forum. Question; is the puppy all grown up now?

The puppy grew up, lived to a ripe old age for a (mostly) lab, and now resides in an urn above the fireplace. She was a great dog, but hated sailing. I don't recall for sure but I was probably hugging her because if I let her loose she'd bolt down to the cabin sole, splay her legs out and get as flat as possible.
She did enjoy being a liveaboard though, so long as we were at the dock. Come to think of it, that describes a lot of liveaboards!

This series has been very pleasant and I , for one, feel great to realize that you all are actually mortal human beings, I guess I'd not featured that ordinary mortals could do so careful and thorough a business , I tell everyone I know about this SAILBOATowners organization and for some reason they all THANK me!?!?!?!
As I meet new sailing friends, I direct them to this site and baby sister's site if they've got a trailer boat. I've actually talked to Bly, David and Phil on the phone trying to figure out exactly what it is that I need and when can I get it? I've never once heard "I'm sorry. We don't have that." The worst I've gotten was "Yes, I know what you want. I'll call you back when I find it." And I've always gotten that call back.
It's amazing what 4 committed (commitable?) people can do for a global community of sailors. Which reminds me, I should go order a bandana, too. For the baby sister board.
