Built a Mahogany medicine cabinet for the boat, I didn't care for the cheap mirror attached to the wall, the cabinet is large, but doesn't take up any room being used by anything else, and since we cruise for 2 months, the extra storage space is a huge plus, Initially I found a cabinet at home depot that looked good, but had too much particle board..and I won't install that crap.

Wow!

I'd love to have that in my 260! Would you be able to post your design plans or sketches? Very cool.

Loose dimensions

Hi Mike, I am too lazy to draw up plans, but I can tell you the little cabinet easily ate up a 10' 1X12 mahogany board, I diced the 1x12 into enough 3" sections to make the body. If you look at the open cabinet you can see how the top and bottom sections of the cabinet were dado'ed to create a basic joint (screw dovetails I don't have that time or patience), I also notched in 2 places on each side to insert a mounting bar. I sawed right down the center of some of the 3" material to make the shelves. The door with mirror was made by sawing a groove down the edge of some of the 3" boards, and simply sliding the mirror into the groove..it was so easy..and the door was a perfect fit because you lay the verticle sections on the cabinet body, and get exact measurements for the top and bottom sections, then cut a mirror about 1/2" larger overall, and then slide everything together with a generous dollop of wood glue..does this make any sense, I built the whole thing in about 3 hours over a couple of days..total cost..about 60 bucks.. (but I have some left over mahogany for a binocular box)

The easy way

I bought the framed mirror from AFI/marinco and built the box behind it.
