As I recall we were doing 6 to 6.5 knot with a 2GM20 Yanmar.
If I may change the tread a bit. Anyone who did a recent re-power with diesel I'd appreciate rough estimates of costs; engine, prop, shaft, controls, stringers fuel systems, etc. Lryic is out of the water and on her trailer in my backyard. I'll be doing
a bit of work on her in preparation to be sold. Asking price is $20,000 which includes a 1994 F350 XLT 7.3 L Turbo Diesel crew-cab work truck and a custom build galvanized trailer by Quality Trailers in Bellingham, Washington. The boat is the best Vega. Or
at least she was in her time. The electronics need replacement and she has fought a losing battle with a dock in Oregon, in all fairness the dock had help. Ocean surge assisted and together they played hell with her paint. She is a seriously well equipped
boat. Walt

I've just fitted a new prop (FAL 13x10). The engine's a 20 year old Yanmar 1GM10 and I can comfortably get over 5 knots without trying.Last year, with the old frayed propeller and a weedy bottom, I couldn't get up to four knots.Alisdair V752
