Hi Folks,

Just looking for recommendations on a Roller furler for the Vega. Would even be interested in a used unit. So many choices, not sure which company to go with and am wondering if there are a few proven units that have served the Vegas well?

Thanks!

Chris,
The Vega I bought already had a CDI furler, so I didn't buy one, but
if I did it would be a Furlex 100S.
The luff tape size for this unit is oner size smaller than most other
furlers in this size range. I don't know if this is a good thing or a
bad thing!

Thanks Peter!
That is two votes for the Furlex. They do look like very nice units.
Thanks for the tip.

I have a Plastimo furling system - came with the boat.

I have seen suggestions that it is a bit lightweight - any opinions?

If it were to fail what is the likeliest component to fail?

Thanks,

John

Hi Group,

I have a "haul it out on deck and hank it on" furling jib. Works
well, but it is slow and sometimes wet and takes up a lot up space in
the V-Berth :) It only has 3 settings: storm, working, and Genoa.
The self furler is guaranteed to never jam, break, or foul up.
Period. Ever.

Seriously, wish I could afford one of the furling jibs. But I think
my son's college comes first. Later group.
