MD 7A Exhaust riser

To replace an unfixable, corroded exhaust riser, I went to a local blacksmith and he manufactured a replacement out of stainless for around $300 Canadian. I understand that the riser is the same for MD6 and MD7 Volvo diesels. I have uploaded photos of the result to the archives for information.

The original exhaust riser is still available from Marine Parts Express for $252. It's not stainless, but it's the original Swedish casting and should last another 20 years or so. Check out their web site, they also provide schematics of the MD6 and 7 that you can down load and are helpful. Some of the prices are mind boggeling high, but I thought the exhaust riser was a fair value.

I'll second that on Marine Parts Express.They are ON THE BALL. Very good people to deal with.
THe owner is very helpfull and is the smartest one I've come across so far.rb
