Hi All,
I am looking for some help on my Volvo MD6B engine. I removed the
thermostat housing to replace the thermostat and o-ring. While
cleaning for reassembly I noticed the hole where the small o-ring
sits on the exhaust manifold was did not go anywhere. Thinking it was
just blocked with dirt I tried to clean only to find metal. It looks
as if it was deliberately block off. My question is, does the
blockage need to be removed from the manifold to allow flow to the
head? If not, what is the reason for the o-ring and hole in the
thermostat housing.
Thanks
Paul
