The May issue of SAIL MAGAZINE contains an article entitled "Sound Off" written by author Scott B. Williams. The article is about sailing the islands in the Mississippi Sound. These islands include Horn, Petit Bois, Ship, and Cat. On the last page of the three page story is a photograph of a sunrise on Horn Island. That photo is mine (SAIL gives me credit for it). Knowing that I religiously sail these islands, Scott contacted me for photographs for his article. He submitted several of my photos with the article and they chose the Horn Island sunrise. SAIL contacted me and followed it with a check. On a sad note, the oil slick threatens all the islands along the Mississippi coast as well as the coastlines of Louisiana and Florida. As of 9 am Monday morning, the harbor where my sailboat is docked will be "boomed" off to protect the marsh and wildlife. Boaters along the entire northern gulf coast from the mouth of the Mississippi River to the Florida Panhandle are watching this looming disaster. Unlike a hurricane which comes and goes, no one knows what this oil slick is going to do nor how long it will last.
