Installation procedure for the Maxwell 21 - B replacement top cap went exactly as predicted by Allen Hutton @ Hutton-Arco (aka - Australian Winch company): the cap was submerged in boiling water for approximately 5 minutes, the drum (once removed) was dunked in ice water for the same amount of time and the two components were married via a wood block and a hammer by pressure somewhere between 'tap' and 'pound'. 15-minutes start-to-finish. Unreal. Back in business for a total of $53 parts/shipping/insurance and 2 1/2 weeks downtime. A brand new cap on a 22 year old winch = good times!
