I have a Maxwell 17 Winch and I found out the hard way today that the top ring is made of a composite type material not metal, it broke. Can anyone tell me where I might get parts for that Maxwell Winch? I really want to avoid buying a whole new winch.
Thanks
Keith

Hutton - Arco has the part you need & the link is attached. I replaced the same cap last summer on a 21, took @ 7-10 to ship from New Zealand. From memory, the total cost, including shipping, was @ $25.

The procedure to install was written somewhere, perhaps within these archives, but basically involved chilling the winch body in ice water, dunking the composite ring in hot water and then using a wooden mallet to 'bang press' the ring to the body. Not difficult nor time consuming.

Here's an image of the new cap installed last year. Good luck w/ your search and installation effort.
