Maximum Weight / HP of Outboard on '83 Catalina 25

What is the maximum weight and / or HP of an outboard engine for a 1983 Catalina 25? I just put on a Garhauer OB-125 retractable motor mount (which lists a maximum capacity of 125lb).I cannot though find a Catalina Yachts recommended maximum weight / HP spec.Thanks,D

8-15 hp

I think the reccomended hp is 8-15. Six will do fine for kicker for getting in and out of the slip. The newer 8hp four strokes seem to be all the power needed even in rough conditions. An extra long shafthowever is the most desirable for rough conditions to avoid the prop breaking out.Motors above 80 lbs need some extra backing of the transom to avoid flexing.
