Maximum propeller

Is there any advantage to stepping up to a 3 blade prop vs the 2 blade we currently have. We do some river navigation and the tides are brutal.

You may want to get more input than noted here on this.I have a 39',and went from a folding 2 blade to a fixed 3 blade. This may "cost" me about 1/2 Knot when sailing, but when under power it does give me more bite and more control. I did not want to spend thousands on a feathering prop threfore the fixed at abot $350 as opposed to $2500.good luck
