which is what Hunter is using now on their new boats. They claim it doesn't need waxing. Seems too good to be true. Anyone have an opinion? How has it stood up since the inception? Does it clean as well as waxed gel coat? Do you wax anyway? Let's hear some feed back. Personally, I'm going to wax the hull this year, I think it needs it.

Hog wash and wax.......

I have 1999 H310 w/ maxgard. I still have to wax, the gelcoat "does" get dull and it "will" stain if you do not wax it. I see no difference with it vs. other gelcoat. Steve, s/v The Odyssey

Steve Cook...

Steve, I see that you are from Appleton. I am thinking of taking my H26 to Lake Winnegabo this Spring. Can you turn me onto any good launch sights and places to sail to, etc? My email is thultberg@conus.com if you want to answer directly. Thanks, Tom PS, Mark Imy boat is a 97, so I don't know what years you are talking about, but a nice coat of wax at the beginning of the year sure makes it look like new.

I still wax

Mark, I agree with Steve. I have a 1999 Hunter 380 and I still wax. I use the West Marine cleaner wax and then the teflon finish. Works well in the northwest.
