Darkness is settling in. No power and spotty cellular internet. Thank goodness my wife reminded me to bring home the Origo stove, percolater and lanterns from the boat. Shrimp tortellini never tasted so good. And I'm looking forward to percolating coffee in the morning. I can charge our devices in my Expedition. Thanks to Ford for realizing it would be a good idea to have hot 12v outlets even with the key out of the ignition switch. The word from our sailing club is we all faired well.
We took a drive to get ice today. Trees are down all over town. Remind me to always listen to my wife. She insisted I call the tree company and see if they could cut down our lightning-struck tree before the storm arrived. I woulda never heard the end of it if it hadda hit our house today.
So it's dark and quiet with not much to do. Maybe I'll try to read from Sam's manual tonight.

Turn to the chapter were you warm up bath water for the little lady on the Origi stove, then light the fire in the fire place while she takes a nice relaxing soak. Greet her with her favorite wine and she will be putty in your hands ;-)
Skip ahead a few chapters if you need help what to do next LOL!!!!
Glad your all ok. A little quite time might do the frog some good.

I don't think bananas were in the manual, but you never know.

We heard you've had record surge along the coast. Glad the new prediction is showing Matthew going East and not turning.

From Beaufort SC: All in all things worked out pretty well for us but not so for others. We evacuated after prepping the boat and the house. Both seemed to make it through. Got a report from the Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club that 6 boats broke loose from their mooring and three are "missing in action." The other three are washed up to the shoreline. We had all the club boats out of the water and no boats on the docks so the docks seemed to survive. Palmetto Marina on Hilton Head took a big hit and is essentially gone. Lots of salvage boats going to come from there. Some damage at the Port Royal Landing Marina but I don't know how much. There is a great pic of a a Catamaran on the ground sitting upright at the edge of the runway at the Beaufort County Airport. Guess he cam in for a landing a little too hot!! Should be easy to recover and get back in the water though.
