Matching cabin veneer stain

I'm replacing some of the veneer on my cabin bulkhead. I'm trying to match the stains to the original since I'm not replacing the whole wall. So far I have a stain and varnish that matches to the original (middle section in photo, a section that was covered by the chainplate). But anything that was exposed to UV light over the past 40 years has become darker. Any recommendations on achieving the richer yellow color of aged wood/varnish (far left in photo)? It seems that a lot of the stains don't go that richly yellow.

Wait 40 more years?

Remove all the old varnish and lightly sand then refinish the entire section.

Your project begs the question, why are you just replacing the veneer? It looks like the bulkhead was damaged and the first ply under the veneer is ripped. That would weaken the plywood.

It’s the last step in the larger project. Correct there was extensive water damage. I’ve removed the plywood the veneer was attached to, that’s being replaced too. On the forward side of the bulkhead was a structural piece of plywood which I replaced with coosa board.
