We have a 25' center boarder and in 25K true wind, we carry a reef in the main and roll our 90% jib to about 40%. We'd put in two reefs (if we had a second). Remember- Double the wind speed quadruples its force. Ernie
Get the specs for your boat, or more simply measure the distance from your forestay to your mast. Any sailmaker will know how to do this. Let them do it for you.
The distance from the headstay to the mast on a 25 is 10'6" . You can use a 100% jib and partiallly roll it up on the furler when things get to 25K. Over 25K with highter gusts, yu should be headed home anyway and would only be using a sliver of jib and a heavily reefed main.
Remember that the headstay to mast distance (J) is not the sail size. The sail size number is a percentage of the LP (Luff Perpendicular), the right angle distance from a point on the Luff to the clew divided into the J measurement.
