Masts of adjacent boats connected

I took your advice as much as I could. I just got off the phone with the marina. The dock boy guy had never noticed it. He promised he’d see if he could find out and call me back.

How much drinking was involved that night? I mean by you, not the alleged captains of those mysterious masts?

If you remember, ask the dock hand what the halyards are made of .................. if they're metallic wire to reinforce @PaulK 's theory of a SSB antenna or if polyester, maybe just a bunch of guys out on a day pass.

The boats tied together at the mast would have a damping effect on wave and wind action. Prevents boats from banging the dock.

All very nice until the wind picks up and then kiss your masts goodbye .

My money is on the alleged owners (I will not refer to them as captains) either being hammered when they did that or being out on a day-pass. Either way, a wrecking waiting to happen.
