Mast

Sailers. I had a rigging failure today on Catalina 27, GreenWave, 3378. While setting the front sail the winch ripped out of the mast. I am now 100 miles from the boat and should have given it a better look. The question is are the four 1/4 24 thread screws/bolts threaded directly into the mast? How thick is the mast wall?
