Re: My 35.5 Here's my dilemma . . The wiring from the mast to my windspeed indicator needs to be checked. The instrument does not read at all; no windspeed, no wind direction. I know the meter [instument itself] is good as it was nbench tested; the mast wiring checks out and so does the annemometer and stuff at the top of the mast including the connector plug. I also know I'm getting 12v to the instrument. I was told that the wiring coming down from the mast does not directly go to the windspeed instrument, but rather to a connector cable and then from the connector cable to the to the instrument. I took off the cover plate from on top of the mast compression post, but all I see is a terminal strip which it looks like it connects the four lead wires directlty to the instrument. Where is this so-called intermediate connection. What am I looking for? a plug or a second terminal strip? Anyone have any ideas? Fredd M. M-Squared

Maybe Two Terminals

I just started installing ST60 wind machine and while checking where the wire will go up the mast I did see a wire terminal already for the VHF and mast lights at the mast compreeion post so I would guess you have two or one terminal strip for everything good luck. nick

Problem solved

I have a 1989 35.5 with the orginial wind instrument and had the same problem as you discribe. What I found after I had the mast taken down was that there is an 8 pin male and female connectors at the base of the mast and at least two of the contacts were oxidized and therefor not making a connection. I obtained a replacement connector and replaced both the male and female connectors. Problem solved.
