Catalina 30 Edmonton
My 1987 Catalina 30 has the mast unstepped at this time. I will be stepping the mast in about a month and then it comes down again in October. When I pulled the mast last year I could not locate all the wire connectors except one. The one I did find has a square plug with 4 wires. I am guessing about 16 gauge wire. That one is easy to reconnect. We had to cut two other sets of wires at the base of the mast. The other wires are as follows: A. First wire is a coaxle cable of sorts. It has multiple strands of wire on the inner conductor. A TV coaxle cable usually has one copper wire on the inner. Anyone out there know what they call this wire. Could I use TV cable and connectors with some covering to make them water resistant? B. Second wire is a small wire with four conductors about the size of wires in a telephone cord. Any ideas what I can use as a connecot on this one? Thanks guys.

lights, vhf antenna & a wind instrument??

the square plug is for the lights-anchor, deck and steaming light. The coax looking cable is for your VHF marine radio, you'd be best to get the marine quality connector ends and make a splice that way. the four conductor small wire is most likely for a wind instrument. this is the way my catalna is set up. hope this helps.

Ken Questions

Hey I am pulling the mast on my C30 this week. Can you tell me where the wires go; like down the compression post or through the liner(headliner of the cabin and outside shell of the boat)
