any one know what the weight of a hunter 27 1980 model would wiegh im wanting to build a pole to attach to my skid steer so i can take down my mast when i want to drydock it . also how does mast sit on mount i cant find any bolts securing it at base so that is tell me its sitting on some kind of base

If you go to Rig-Rite and can identify the extrusion for your mast, you can read the weight/ft., multiply by your spar's height, and add some from hardware, etc.

I would estimate less than 200 pounds. It was not hard for me to lift one end of our mast when we took it down using the mast crane at our marina the first three winters we owned it.

The open bottom of the mast extrusion fits over a mating aluminum insert about four inches tall that is bolted through the deck above the compression post in the cabin. That compression post doubles as the door jam on the starboard side of the doorway from the main cabin into the head. The wires for lighting and grounding, and the cable for the VHF antenna come up in a plastic tube in the middle of the insert, sometimes called a boot. They attach to the cables running up the inside of the mast with plugs. Hope this helps.
