Can't see from the pic if you have a center support , but all you need to do is tie to the bow pulpit and the stern rail (I use a pool noodle over the rail to insulate it), make a support out of wood that bolts into the mast tabernacle that has a vee in the top to rest the mast in, make a cutout in the base of the vee to accommodate the rigging. Bungee cords are strong enough to hold it on, though I made an aluminum bracket at the bow for the mast to bolt to on mine. Loosely tie all the rigging, the only standing rigging that is disconnected is the forestay. Boom and mainsail go in the cabin. Motor goes in the back of the truck while on the road. When you get down this way, you can check out Frank's boat, v25, and mine, v22-2 for ideas.

The back rest on a mast crutch and the base rest on the anchor roller. The center is supported by a fender jammed into the tabernacle. Each point is tied down or bungeed.

Timo, that's using your noodle.

Great info. When I picked her up the mast was laying on the stern rail and the bow pulpit. I put tie-downs on those points and sand bagged the point at the hatch and tied it there too. The hatch blew off on the way home (note the plywood hatch in the my pic), That was another story some of you may remember from last year. I still have not taken the new hatch out of the mould. I will work on making some supports at the points you all mention. Your pics are great . Any pics you all can share will be great. Below is a pic of the mold before the hatch was layed.

Thanks for the pics. Great job on the mounts. Nice trailer too. My wife would like a new trailer for the Phoebe 1 and yours looks like what the boat should have been on in the first place.

My O'Day 222 came with a single axle Load-Rite roller trailer when it was new, and it was a great set up back then when I was doing a lot of trailer sailing. Like everything else, the trailer got old, and I got too old to keep doing that. Hence, the bottom paint went on, and I started using a mooring. This is the prime reason why I have a Long Aluminum tandem bunk trailer. With that said, the Mack boats need a special trailer which is designed for these boats. You're better off sticking with this type of trailer for your boat. Joe

This is how I got her home. Lucky I brought tie-downs.
My late pal Walter had a 2002 Mac 26 and if I remember right, the mast was supported just under the bow pulpit by a bolt through the mast and a special bracket. The aft part of the mast was supported by a mast crutch that appeared to be made up of 1" stainless steel pipe that fit into a hole in the stern somewhere to receive it. Google the MacGregor site and check out their mast carrying and Gin Pole set up.
