Hello all.
Are there any Southern Cross 31 owners here? Or someone familiar with this boat?
The mast is leaning forward and does not look right. Is that normal? I have asked that same question on the Southern Cross Owners group with little luck. Some say their mast leans forward too, but weren't sure if it was supposed to. Shouldn't there be a set up guide somewhere?
I've searched the internet but came up with nothing.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Tank you
Heiko

When you say the mast is leaning forward.... did you actually plumb the mast? Or... does the sheer (deck curve) give it the appearance that the mast is canted forward. Don't let your eyes fool you... measure it yourself. Here's a simple Masthead rig tuning guide: http://www.practical-sailor.com/marine/masthead-rig-7055-1.html

Heiko,
I had a SC31 for 8 years and learned at about year 4 that the SC31 Mast should have a 7 degree rake.
Once we tuned the rigging with the rake, performance improved.
I now have a SC39 since 2013
