Looking for ideas on mast support at the bow pulpit during trailering. Will a Catalina mast carrier kit work?

H23 Mast Support on Pulpit

Hi John, I have found that the built in 'U' shape in the bow pulpit is adequate for trailering. I do pack a lot of soft cushion between the mast and the pulpit during trailering. Are you concerned about the height of the mast or that the pulpit seems flimsy and shakes during trailering? /Chuck S/V Windsongs '85 H23

The original U works great.

It is at just the right height. I pad the mast with old Kapok life jackets in the pulpit U and in the stern crutch and lash it securely. It just rests on the cabin top and doesn't move or mark the cabin top at all.

mast support

We use the pulpit for mast support. The only thing we do is make sure there is something under the spreaders. We had about a 6 hour trip and it rubbed on the edge of the cabin and took the gel coat off. Now I put something under and it and make sure the mast can't twist. I also put some foam under the rear support. Rob Morton S/V Euphoria h23
