mast stepping

Hi I bought a Viking 33 and were going to put the mast up in a couple of weeks My question is,where does the mast stand and /or attached to on the keel thanks

I think you need to hire some help.

There should be a place on the keel directly below the hole in the deck called the mast step.

Thanks for your reply Ross Yes there is a steel plate but nothing to attach the mast to

No hole in the floor or collar? missing some pieces?

Mast wedges for the partners still around? (partners---the hole in the deck where the mast pokes through)

Ross i think i am missing some parts, i haven't seen any wedges around Are they just wooden wedges? There is a hole ofcourse for the mast to go thru

Sometimes they are woden and sometimes moulded flexible plastic

There ought to be a restraint on the cabin floor so that the mast will stand by its self without the standing rigging. You can't sail without the standing rigging but you can step the mast and let go and then connect the shrouds and stays.
