Hey everyone, looking forward to having the boat closer to me, for those who have a g26, how is the mast stepped?
my old dolphin had a hinge type of mounting bolt that let the mast tilt up, but the Grampian has a long narrow mast step and the mast is ahead of the mast.
how do you secure the mast to the base??? ( the pic with the mast raised is from the net not from my perso boat)

this will be my first time raising a mast with a crane so I have no idea on how to do this

I wouldve guessed there would be a second pin on there but I guess the forestay could keep it in place. Looks like the mast would swing aft. I think I started a couple of threads about various mast stepping designs. Let me know if you're going to create a gin pole. My design costs $15-20 and about an hour to put together

Many, many mast feet have just one pin and a shoe or track to align the mast. The mast foot hardware don't hold the mast up. It just to keep the mast foot from slipping. Even when there are two holes for a pin, you only need one.

That way, if the shrouds break and the mast falls, the damage is (hopefully) limited to the mast foot not the cabin top.

Ok, so I was just at the boat and yes there is a hinge plate on the bottom of the mast, thank you everyone
