Archives Have Much Info
David, if you have the factory set-up, which include triangular plates on the shrouds, and secondary, lower mast/boom attachment mount you are good to go using the boom as the righting/lowering arm. Go to the yahoo o'day club website, join and access the photo forum for a posted diagram. If you email me with a fax # I will send you a copy. If you don't have this option, you could have a rigger remake your shrouds and you can buy the plates from west marine, or any rigging loft can get them and then you can raise/lower your mast using this system. There are other ways, and the archived info. will lead you to a couple alternatives. I have done it with one male friend and a third to unwrap any tangled stays and make sure the turnbuckles don't bind. The mast weighs about 70lbs or so. It seems daunting but its quite doable. The trouble is trying to find friends ready to go when you are.Don
