Mast Step

I just bought a 85 model Catalina 22, and was in the process of cleaning the boat, when I noticed that the mast step was loose on the deck. One of the fasteners is a rusted steel screw or something. I haven't removed it yet to see what kind of screw it is. I would appreciate any advice on how to secure the mast step to the deck.Thanks,David

Epoxy Filler

My 1975 22 had the same problem a few years ago. I removed the two screws, then the step. The screw holes were enlarged so I filled them with a maarine epoxy filler, then redrilled to proper size, replaced step over some new silicone sealer,and replaced the screws. All has remained shipshape there since. Hope yours is as easy. Dick
