hi, just had the yard remove my mast, for transport. was told it was fused to the step. Any suggestions on repairing the botton few inches of mast base and the step. Sound like mast may never have been removed in years. (84 37cutter) rgds Tom
I had the mast pulled a few years ago, the first time since new probably. So around 20 years. As they pulled the mast they lifted the boat 24 inches out the the water until it released. The mast had a little oxidation but not bad. I figured that if I needed to shorten the mast I would put a plate the same size under the step and raise the step the same amount.
