Hello, Just curious, what do you do(or do you do anything at all?)to secure your side stays(wire rigging) to the end of the mast spreader prior to putting the chafe resistant rubber boot over the end of the speader? Do you use wire, twine, or anything at all? If wire, should it be stainless, and if so, where do you buy it? Thanks for your advice! Rick "Tiny Dancer"

Yes, Wire Them On

Mine are not anything special, just galvinized wire. Besides, I end up taping them with riggers tape before I boot them, and then more riggers tape to seal the boot on. I check them each spring, replacing the tape afterwards. Don

rigging wire

As done said, you'll definitely want to wire them on. stainless rigging wire is available at most chandleries. The last time I bought some it was at West Marine.
