I plan to attach a white steaming light to the mast of my Hunter 23. Most other sailors in the club have their's about a foot above the spreader. When I was at the Chicago boat show, the Hunter sales person suggested I put it about a foot below the spreader. He did not give a reason. Does anyone know why I should not follow the rule of thumb of the rest of my club and put it above the spreader? The other boats in the club are either ODay 23, 25 or Precision 23's. Is my mast so bendy that putting it above the spreader is a bad idea? Any comments will be welcome.Good sailingBill Leathen
