Mast removal on 270LE

Hi Darrel. I have a 1997 C-270. Both the vhf and mast light connections are installed with disconnect plugs at the maststep location. Once the mast is lifted about 1 foot these are easy to disconnect. Recommend using some sort of crane. Only pain is the double spreader in hooking the crane rig to the mast. And watch out for those turnbuckles and covers......they like to swim!! Good Luck Doug

Hi Darrel. Boat,s in the hangar right now, but inclosed is a pic. Best I can remember is the maststep is through bolted like the c-22. My wiring is siliconed where it comes throught the deck at the compression post....the dealer had done the vhf installation. I had once pulled the floorboards snooping around to wire my stereo.. But I dont remember seeing the wire that went from the vhf to the compression post. Those bolts for the compression post at the cabin sole are stubborn!
