There's a reason that's an expensive job. There's a lot of time involved in stripping metal & getting it smooth enough to paint again. Not to mention all those little fittings. If you're going to do it, I'd talk with a number of people who actually have done it before. My guess is that any corrosion left on the aluminum would "corrupt" any paint you applied over it. I'll have to bet that the myriad boat repair books out there would cover this. Good luck! LaDonna
