Measure from the aft side of the mast base plate to above the U bolt in the front of the anchor well. That would be within an inch or so.

Total overall length is 84". On one end there is a curved notch cut in 1/2" from the overall length. On the other end there is a hole 1" back from the end. The wire rope with loops on each end go through this hole.

Gin Pole Length
I measured mine last night. It was 8',1" or 97 inches. Guess what I use my gin pole for when I'am not stepping my mast. Regards, Bob.
