I have a 17' Day Sailer and I would also like to know if anyone knows of a mast raising system is available or could be constructed for the 17' Day Sailer so that it would be easier for one to raise the mast single handed.Gary

I knew there had to be a better way...

To : Paul Rickershauser, mast raising.Thanks for the explanation and diagram of your mast raising system. I trailer sail a Mariner 19, and put the mast up, and take it down myself. As you mentioned this can get real interesting in a crosswind. Good to have an alternate method!
