is it on a trailer
if you have the boat on a trailer . I have a cruch made from 2x4s that slips in to the winch mount and extends about 6 ft high and about 3 ft fowards of the winch. this allows me to slide the mast fowards to pin it to the step. then with the boom attached to the bottom of the mast and some lines attached to the rigging for side stability i use the main sheet and winch to raise it by myself then attach the backstay. takes about 20 minutes to paise or lower. i saw this also somewhere on the net but havent remembered where . have heard of people raising and lowering to the aft of boat but i havent tried this . i do think the foward method is what oday used and it is published somewhere on the net.
