Mast problems...

Hello all!

Just had a great vacation sailing around the Swedish archipelago.
Great weather and company yet I did have a little problem. I dont
know what its called but the clamp that holds the main sail onto the
mast just went and quit on me. Seems the threads either gave or that,
if there was a bolt inside the mast, the bolt dropped. Can anyone
help me solve the this? My thumb is placed in the palm of my hand if
you know what I mean. I can post pics if needed.

P.s. Can anyone give me detailed intructions on how to operate the
toilet? Havent dared use it yet.

Are you talking about something similar to the device pictured here?
http://secure.sailrite.com/prodinfo.asp?number=3543 If so, it's a sail stop
and can be purchased at most chandleries for between $5 & $10 US. Or you
can order one or several from Sailrite, Fawcetts
(Fawcett Boat Supplies) or any number of other places. There are 3
different styles that I'm familiar with. I don't know which one would be
best for your boat. If this isn't what you're talking about, I'm sure
someone else can help.

If anybody is interested in a MD7A block, crankshaft,
connecting rods, wrist pins, and pistons, please
contact me at jefframage@...

These items have less than 100 hours on them,
following a complete rebuild. Water had gotten in the
engine, and it has been parted out.

The marine diesel repair shop has just finished
inspecting the block and reports that there is no
cracks in the block, or in the new cylinder sleeves
that were pressed in during the rebuild.

also, the transmission is for sale, but it is NOT a
COMBI unit. it is the typical Volvo Penta reversing
gear.
