Just bought a oday 22 at an auction, need description of hardware that connects mast to boat, part is missing, am also interested in detailed info about the oday22 as I am a novice in this area.

you need to post a pix to show us what is there, many boats have been converted to different steps/tabernacle combinations, hard to say without seeing what is left behind on the cabin roof, etc.

...missing something here Mathias, the pic provided is the "top" of the mast. At the bottom of the mast, there should be two little "studs" that come out each side. Those studs slide into your mast base (1st pic), and then acts like a hinge to raise. I have the same set up on my 1972 O22 and I tell you, it is very easy to raise this mast with this set up with only two people.

I checked again, the picture is the one of the mast-base, I expected studs as well but assume a part is missing, the mast step plate?

I don't know...The pictures that I am seeing (the top on on this page) is of the top of the mast for sure..You can see shrouds attached there..Might be easier to talk on the phone to help you. I bought the thing from Rudy at D&R Marine for about $10 I think. It's called a "O'day 22 Mast Tabernacle Pin" or a " O'day 22 Pin For Hinged Step" depinding on the year.
