Does anyone have an actual part list made up for a total mast replacement for the H 37 C?

Wow, that's a project unto itself Rick. I could tell you all their names but nothing about the sizes. Bottom up you have: five exit plates for halyards, two winches, the double tangs for the lower shrouds(both sides), spreader brackets and spreaders, two tangs for running backstays, a welded forward tang for the staysail stay, a forward exit with sheave for staysail halyard, heavy tangs for upper shrouds, then the masthead with four sheaves and heavy pins for forestay and backstay terminals. And the guys will help with what I have forgotten. You could save a lot by making it a sloop rig. A lot of these parts are in my pictures: http://hunter.sailboatowners.com/in...&cat_id=38&aid=7938&page=article&mn=37-cutter .

P.S. forgot the cleats. I have three on one, two on the other side plus they had a cam cleat for the jib halyard(although I noticed Bill D had rerigged with his main halyard on port and using that cam cleat).

I would be inclined to look for an entire used rig of a similar size to the H37C rig ... even better if you could find one with sails. It doesn't necessarily have to be a cutter rig either (Bill D and Blaise P will be happy to have another member in their sloop club ;-) There must be boats that sink at moorings, get holed, etc. that have salvagable rigs. I suspect buying a replacement rig from Rig Rite piece by piece will be a very expensive proposition.

Try the Rig-Rite website and the Z-Spar website. You can Google them to get actual mast lists and mast parts lists.

Rig rite has the extrusion die, will make you a spar. Last year when I talked to them about a short piece it was going to be hugely expensive. FWIW, if you want it to carry around to boat yards, I have a 5" cut off from where the base rotted. Yours for the postage. PM me

There is a thread in the Archives that gives the extrusion number it's a K something. Was used osome other boats also.

Maybe it was just me... I thought Rigrites website wasn't that great and there were no phone numbers to call them. When they finally emailed me they were vague and not helpful.
Anyone else have problems?

Ed. sorry it took me a few days to get back. I am trying to check the list you made vs the pile of mast parts in the back yard. I can get a brand new mast blank for $4500.

Buying from Rigrite will be expensive... at 4500 just for the blank, your still far from sailing. You should look for something similar in size, fully rigged, that would be locally availible, while your at it, try to find something lighter with double spreaders (and save yourself some rolly nights). The original mast section is a Kenyon K5280 cruising section.

I really don't know much about masts and rigging. Who do I ask if a mast that I find used is suitable? I don't have a problem not going stock. Will my sails work with a new mast configuration and so on...

Personally I would only install what was originally there Rick. Compare the size of the E-Bay mast to http://www.rigrite.com/Spars/Kenyon_Spars/5280-cruising.html . Then there are the double spreaders which means they will not be in alignment with your chainplates. You will need a custom maststep for the bilge and a bigger hole with custom made partners. Also a special boom for the furling main. Rigging it will be very difficult costing thousands because it will be all custom. And it is a furling mast which means a custom mainsail. I know how frustrating it must be to need such a major part and not be able to find one.
