Hey folks,I currently have a little JRC 1000 radar mounted to a dedicated tower at the rear of my Vega. I'm looking at mounting a wind generator atop this tower, and thus am considering my options for relocating the radar dome. Option 1: Mast mount radar dome. Are there many Vegas with this? Does it significantly affect the jib while tacking?Option 2: Mount the radar slightly lower/offset on the tower.Option 3: Fabricate a mount for my dual backstays (unlikely I'll pursue this option).Thoughts? I need to drop my mast anyway to repair some corrosion on the base, install an anchor light/antennae and check all the rigging. But of course the rear tower mount is simplest, cheapest and most aligned with KISS ideologies. Currently, the base of the radar atop the tower is about 101" above deck. Given the current layout of the radar tower and the triangulation tube, I'd be able to lower the radar without losing much height above deck.I'm going to upload a photo of the current radar tower setup to illustrate what I'm working with.Regards,JacobVega #169
