Mast Lowering Major Mistake!

After 12 years with my H260 I have finally made the stupid... rookie... mistake of lowering the mast while still in the water!

As you can likely predict, as I pulled the pin to release the forestay, BLOOP! Went the clevis pin into the drink! I cursed, and carried on as it was end of season, and was during the pullout.

My Question to the H260 owners is, what size clevis pin is standard for the forestay attachment to the bowplate?

I'm going to but a dozen and never drop or raise the mast on the water.

1/4 inch clevis pin. Measure for the length so the hole at the end clears the other end which to secure with a stainless cotter pin or stainless circular ring

Don't beat yourself up....I've done worse than drop a pin in the water..... :yikes:

With love and perseverance... you can Humpty Dumpty your way back.
