Hi everyone, Im a new poster on this board, because I just bought my first sailboat a 1988 Hunter 26.5. My wife and I took her out for the first time yesterday, and oh what a joy. The question I have is about wiring on the Anchor light and the mid mast light. At this point the wiring is routed over the top deck and in through the Cockpit opening. This concerns me as the wiring runs real close to the sheet lines on the top deck. Can anyone give me any suggestions as how to wire this properly without doing to much drilling into the deck. As I am a new sailor, any and all advice and tips are greatly appreciated.

Welcome

Our '88 26.5 has a round receptacle for the mast lights located on the port side of the base of the mast. Your wires sound like an add on. Glenn WindWisp 26.5 Hunter

You may be right Glenn, this very well could be an add on. But I will surly look for this opening. And Thanks for the welcome aboard.

Plug

Mine also has the round plug on the deck at the aft/port side of the mast. The lesson I've learned is to check all the wiring, connections and bulbs before raising the mast....neither of mine are working!

Welcome

By the way..Welcome to the club! I've had several boats, but this is the best one I've owned!!!! it really performs great, and has good lines. The previous owner added lots of "stuff" to step it up a notch. She's a joy to sail!
