Mast light works as I ran wire directly from battery to light and lit up. I then tested for power coming from wires out of the deck area and no power. Then went to electrical panel to check fuse and it's ok. To check switch at mast light , I put mast light wire on marine radio switch since I knew radio worked and still no power from wires out of deck to mast light. so it's must be the wiring, trouble is the wiring is buried in headliner with no easy access. Anybody deal with similar issues? Could rig something up from switch outside of headliner but would look rinky-dinky.

With no power issues start with the usual suspects. Connections. The contacts at the light, any splices or fittings at the mast base through the deck, connectors at the switch. These are the typical spots that corrode and need cleaning - repair.

On most of the boats I 've worked on ,the wires were laid between layers of fiberglass and were sandwiched in place. Making replacing wires very frustrating. To be sure our wiring was above reproach ,I pulled new wires and made sure all connections were terminated properly
Fixed it. Cleaned up wiring coming out of deck and finally got a current in the multimeter. Again, thanks for input.
Tim, how did you remove the wires that were sandwiched between the fiberglass? I am specifically speaking about the wiring on the starboard side of the O'Day 25'.
Good morning .I pulled the replacement wires between the headliner and the outer shell . There was plenty of room also under the starboard settee . Using 3/4" grey cpvc made it easier to pull the wires and keep track of what was going where . Battery #2 is kept here as well .Battery one is also starboard but under the cockpit .Does this help ?
