I am looking for the male end of the wire connector for the mast light on a 26.5, I know this is an older boat but I am having zero luck in finding one. I tried to find a number to contact hunter marine , but no luck there. Any info would be appreciated. Sonny

How many connections does it have?

I just changed the one on my 98 260. it had 3 connections on it. I replaced it with a 4 connection plug and socket. I could send the old one if you think it will work.

Have you tried Hunter owners, boat information, Hunter technical support tab in this site? I'm running out to my boat this afternoon and will look at what I've got. I thought I had a spare connector here, where I could get you some info. Couldn't find it.

What I did...

Sonny, I was having some trouble with the same plug on my 26.5 and finally gave up. I do have the old one if you want it. I ended up using a "flat 4" weatherproof trailer wiring connector on both the boat and the mast to make the connection. Plenty of silicone around the area where it passes through the hull at the mast step and it's done. I found this to be a better connection than the original plug and it is much easier to use. Just my two cents worth. My e-mail is svwalkabout at comcast dot net if you want the old plug. Regards, Clayton s/v Walkabout Hunter 26.5

Sea Dog

Sonny, had the same problem withg my mastlight connector. Had to replace both assemblies. The Three prong plug is available from Sea Dog. I replaced both male and female and found they were both extremely corroded. They ahve worked like a champ ever since. If you have any questions call. I'm slipped at GTB. Mast Plug repair

I have had a problem with the connection being intermittent on my 26.5 mast plug. I soolved the problem by cleaning the male plug prongs real well and then tinning them with solder and a heating iron until each prong was fully coated with solder. This bridged the gasp theat had developed between the prongs and receptacle. The plug fits tightly now and makes contact continuously. I coated the plug with some dielectric grease and then taped it with some rigging tape to prevent water infiltration from the wire end.
