i am unable to get my spinaker haylard down to the bottum of the mast internally...something jammed up in the mast...i get it down to about two feet above the base...someone told me of a piece of hardware called a haylard exit????i can run the haylard internally and then have it exit just above the jam and then down to a block...anybody know where i could locate this hardware...thanks

Why, I would find out why it's jammed sounds like maybe a not? Internal is nice I think they are talking about changing your gear.

Halyard jam

I presume you are trying to exit the Spin halyard from a Heel plug exit which is an array of sheaves at deck level. If the halyard or messenger makes it to two feet of that heel plug then it most likely a compression bolt going through the mast if you have a B&R design. Otherwise it can be deceiving as to where the halyard is actually hanging up if you are feeding it with the mast vertical. The line can be piling up almost anywhere along the way giving you the impression that it is reaching its final destination. A halyard exit on the side of your mast is surely an option but some thought and planning for its location would be prudent. Most marine stores should have a selection of exit plates. Make sure the size of the halyard is determined before making the purchase. A call to a local rigger may also help you in determining your best approach. Regards, Tom
