Mast indentation

I am in the process of trying to purchase a 27 ft. Hunter and during the intitial inspection I noticed a indention in the area where the mast sits on the cabin top it appears to be small, maybe 16th of an inch deep, there are no cracks on the inside or outside and the inside shows no signs of bulging. It appears that new standing rigging has been replaced recently. Is it normal for new rigging to indent the cabin top or is it possible that the cabin top wood has gone away. Look for....

...compression on the cabin sole. The T brace is the compression post which is supported by the cabin sole. There may be some compression there or the post may be compressed. Either way there should be no compression on the deck. That would provide for accumulation of water and possible leaks.

mine has been like that for a year and a half. i saw a really nice report on how to fix that. basically he made a new pattern of aluminum about the same thick as the rotten plywood and covered it with fiberglass or i wonder if west epoxy would work better? i built a plywood canoe the other day with it and it worked really well. i want to try that anti sag formula next time. i also repaired a garage door an a window sill and a interior cabinet the stuff is really good. it saves thousands in not having to replace un matchable items. don't be scared to buy the boat cus of that, just hit the price down if the boats nice otherwise.
